The First Ever Summer Program at the Kartause

Summer 2011 was the pilot program for a summer session here at the Kartause.  Due to late notice, we had 9 students and one professor (Dr. Monica Anderson) from main campus come out to participate.  On the Gaming end, we had a limited staff with two teachers, chaplain, female RD, and main office staff.  While the month-long semester was extremely intense with two, 2 1/2 hour classes a day, the students were pressed for time practically every day.  But they did find time to exercise, travel, and just enjoy each other's company.  They are now off to Rome, Assisi, Florence, & Padua  as they end their semester with a bang!

We will miss them go....

Maybe there will be more next summer. It's such a great idea though. I know of some people who don't go to Austria because they can't afford it. This would an affordable option for them. I couldn't imagine not going to Austria at some point while at Franciscan. It was such a great experience, and hope I can come back to the Kartause.
